Why did you apply for the Godolphin Flying Start scholarship?
Having been aware of the programme for a number of years, I applied off the back the finishing my degree as an opportunity to see the world’s best practice in five leading jurisdictions was an opportunity not to be missed. Added to this was the unrivalled list of alumni, a number of whom I aspire to emulate.
Where has been your favourite phase of the programme?
As I now reflect on the past two years, America was a highlight for me personally, a completely different industry to the one that I was most accustomed but with a really great community behind it. I was lucky enough to attend each leg of the triple crown and the atmosphere surrounding each leg was phenomenal.
Who has had the most influence on you since you commenced the programme?
Graham Motion, for whom I spent my American Externship with. His attention to detail and management of people were two things I admired and hope to replicate in the future.
How would you measure your progress since August 2021?
Apart from growing my international racing and breeding knowledge over the last the two years, I think I have grown in confidence and hope to put that into my work post flying start.
What is your biggest learning from the last two years that will help you in the future?
My biggest take away is probably the relentlessness of some of the most successful people in the industry, that was without a doubt a common thread throughout our time on the programme.
