Why did you apply for the Godolphin Flying Start scholarship back in 2023?
I applied for Flying Start to get exposure to and experience in as many different aspects of the
industry as I could and meet people from all over the world.

Who has had the most influence on you since you commenced the programme?
Gerry Duffy – He has been incredibly enthusiastic and given us so much of his time. I am very
lucky to have spent a four-week rotation at Godolphin’s Stonerside in Lexington while Gerry
was at the helm, and he imparted not only great horsemanship but a good deal of life advice
as well.
What did you learn from your externships?
My externships at the Breeders’ Cup in Lexington and Annabel Neasham and Rob Archibald in Sydney gave me so much
exposure to very different sides of the industry. I learned the ins and outs of putting on an international sporting event,
what it takes to prepare a horse for that type of event, and I gained the confidence to walk into roles that are new to me
and put my best foot forward.
What did you miss about home when you travelled around the world for two years?
My family and my animals. We are all very close so it’s difficult being in dramatically different time zones for such a long
period of time.
What is the next step for you?
I am really looking forward to getting back out into the industry whether that be America or elsewhere. I am looking into
opportunities in various capacities on the racing side of things and am excited to see where that takes me.
