Rachel Wade is 25 years old and is a native of Charlottesville, Virginia, USA. She developed a passion for horse racing at a young age and upon graduating from Randolph-Macon College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business and Economics, she decided to pursue a career in the thoroughbred industry. Rachel worked as a foreman for a trainer before moving to Australia, where she initially worked on Arrowfield’s yearling preparation team. Before commencing Godolphin Flying Start, Rachel worked for trainers Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott as a junior foreperson and office assistant.
“Godolphin Flying Start is an exceptional opportunity for its twelve trainees, and I am elated to have been granted a position on the course. Over the next two years, I look forward to learning every facet of the industry while simultaneously developing advantageous leadership and practical skills. Trainees are given the opportunity to work alongside the best industry professionals in five countries, which ensures they gain a cosmopolitan education and develop both personally and professionally. I am excited to create an international network while I expand my knowledge of the increasingly global thoroughbred industry alongside my fellow trainees. Aside from horses, I am interested in travelling and outdoor sports such as running and hiking.”
