What horse got you interested in the Thoroughbred industry?
Shannon Rock – Trained by French National Hunt Champion trainer Jean-Paul Gallorini, he was an extraordinary horse. Finishing second, four times, in the Grand Steeple Chase de Paris. He was dark, athletic, powerful, and epitomised for me the perfect racehorse.
Why did you apply for the Godolphin Flying Start scholarship?
Because it is the one program that offers an unparalleled opportunity to engage deeply with the Thoroughbred industry on a global scale.
Over the two years, we have been offered a top-level academic course along with practical hands-on experiences, gaining global knowledge of the various aspects of horseracing. Additionally, this programme takes us to all the major racing countries in the world, allowing us to meet numerous of its key stakeholders and build strong relationships, essential to become tomorrow’s industry leaders.
Have you any siblings?
I have three younger sisters. Although they are all skilled horse riders, no one in my family is connected to the horse racing industry. My interest was self-driven, from when I was younger and starting riding in the morning.
What are your hobbies and interests?
Obviously, horse racing is one of my primary focus, but I am also keenly interested in geopolitics, economics, history, nature, and sports. My hobbies include exercise riding and in races as an amateur and I also engage in skydiving, skiing, boxing, and motorsports.
What did you think you will miss most about home while you travel through each of the five phases?
French food for sure! Baguettes and croissants!
