Tereza Pavlů

What horse got you interested in the Thoroughbred industry?

It was probably a mare named Ready and Able that we had at home. I spent a lot of time around her as a child. One of my earliest racing memories is watching her daughter, Ready for Life win the Czech Derby.

Why did you apply for the Godolphin Flying Start scholarship?

As I grew up on a family stud farm, I have a deep passion for Thoroughbreds and racing. Godolphin Flying Start is a fantastic opportunity for me to see the best of the horse racing industry and learn from the most knowledgeable people so I can make an impact in my home country and abroad and bring our sport into the future.

Have you any siblings?

I have two younger sisters who help on our family stud farm.

What are your hobbies and interests?

I like travelling, reading, and listening to music. I also enjoy different sports, such as volleyball, swimming, running and skiing.

What did you think you will miss most about home while you travel through each of the five phases?

Definitely my mum’s strawberry dumplings!
