Gabrielle Nebout

What horse got you interested in the Thoroughbred industry?

Seabiscuit.

Why did you apply for the Godolphin Flying Start scholarship?

I applied to the Godolphin Flying Start scholarship because this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to learn from the best of the Thoroughbred Industry worldwide. Being part of the program means you can benefit from its knowledge, connect with alumni, and tap into industry expertise— which are essential tools for launching a successful career.

Have you any siblings?

I have an older brother, but no one in my family is from the industry, or involved in it.

What are your hobbies and interests?

Horse riding would be my main hobby, but in general I’m a big fan of outdoors activities such as scuba diving (Plan C was to become a certified instructor) or hiking. I’m also very much interested in literature, and you can be sure to find a book in my bag at anytime.

What did you think you will miss most about home while you travel through each of the five phases?

French baguette, cheese and wine! I’m used of being away from home as I’ve had several experiences studying or working from abroad. I think the most challenging part is accepting the fact that your friends and family are going on with their lives while you’re away, and that you won’t be here to witness it all.
