What horse got you interested in the Thoroughbred industry?
I grew up going to the Carolina Cup and Colonial Cup, two steeplechase races in Camden, South Carolina, and when I was eleven, I bet on Sunshine Numbers to win the Carolina Cup. He won by over 25 lengths, so that one really sticks out in my memory. More recent favourites on the flat include Forte, Tamara and Amaretto Queen.
Why did you apply for the Godolphin Flying Start scholarship?
I applied for the Godolphin Flying Start scholarship because it combines a lot of my interests, in racing and business specifically, and offers an unbelievable curriculum to learn every aspect of the thoroughbred industry across five countries.
Have you any siblings?
I have a younger sister, Claiborne, who is not involved in the Thoroughbred industry but is starting a job in marketing this fall.
What are your hobbies and interests?
Polo, hunting, tennis and reading
What did you think you will miss most about home while you travel through each of the five phases?
My dogs, my family, my friends, and my favourite sushi restaurant are in no particular order, of course!
