Bill Wong

Bill Wong has parlayed his Darley Flying Start experience into a multi-faceted career in the Thoroughbred industry based in Hong Kong. Upon graduating from Darley Flying Start, Bill spend a year working as a management trainee at Darley’s Stonerside Farm in Kentucky. Here, he honed his practical horsemanship skills in the areas of breeding, managing broodmares and developing foals into athletes. In 2012 Bill returned home to Hong Kong and took up the role of Bloodstock Manager at Price Bloodstock. His daily work includes form and pedigree research, horse evaluations and client communications, and he represents the company at Hong Kong races and at bloodstock sales around Australasia. Bill also works as a bloodstock consultant for Darley in China, and is involved in the Dubai International Thoroughbred Internships (DITI) and the Darley Jockey Training Program. He is currently acting as training manager of DITI. “My main task is to communicate with the senior management, coordinators and the interns to ensure the interns achieve their different learning objectives,” Bill said; “This is a very meaningful program and I am delighted to be part of it.”
