Andriy Ostapchuk has undertaken varied roles since graduating Darley Flying Start that have helped him prepare to launch his own agency, Imperial Bloodstock, which he did in 2009. Immediately after graduating, Andriy completed a six-month internship with bloodstock agent James Wigan of London Thoroughbred Services in the UK. That December, he relocated to Ireland to take up a position at Coolmore Stud. After six months Andriy joined Primus Advertising and Marketing, which handles Coolmore’s public relations. He began in the pedigree department before progressing to the company’s digital office, where he was responsible for website development, production of video and digital advertisements and database management. In 2008, Andriy got an unofficial start to his career as a bloodstock agent when he purchased The Bogberry out of Aidan O’Brien’s Ballydoyle Stables as a racing and stallion prospect. The Bogberry placed in a French G2 the following year and competed in that year’s G1 Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe, and thus Imperial Bloodstock was born. Andriy, now based in France, has since completed the purchases of stallion prospects Mastery and Golan, both of which now stand in Russia.
